In this blog, I will share my journey as an aspiring ecologist, from navigating career decisions and personal growth to diving into exciting scientific questions and reflecting on the papers that inspire me.
My goal is to promote open science and engage the general public in awesome research. By sharing my personal experience during this growth and transition period, I hope to show that others aren’t alone in facing challenges like impostor syndrome, hidden curricula, or winding career paths. Plus, this blog allows me to practice writing regularly, a skill I’ll need in grad school and beyond!
The name Winging It with GAJ is a playful pun on my love for birds and the chaos of navigating the uncertainty of the future.
So, stay tuned as I share funny field stories, cool ecology topics, and how I’m “winging it” through life.
